Neuschwanstein Castle, Germany
The 19th-century castle sits above the village of Hohenschwangau in south-west Bavaria. Built as a retreat for King Ludwig II in 1869, the Romanesque-style palace has been an inspiration for Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle and has appeared in movies such as "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" (1968) and "The Great Escape" (1963). Every year, it attracts more than 1.3 million tourists.
Chateau de Chambord, France
One of the most recognizable châteaus in the world, the palace featuring French Renaissance architecture was built as a hunting lodge for King Francis I in 1547. Consisting of 440 rooms and 84 staircases, the château houses double-helix staircase, leading to the great lantern tower and the rooftop.

The most famous room of the palace, Hall of Mirrors, features 17 mirror-clad arches and each of them contains 21 mirrors. Comprising 2,143 windows, 1,252 fireplaces, and 67 staircases, this palace became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
Waitomo Glowworm Caves, New Zealand
One of the natural wonders, this cave is famous for its limestone formations and thousands of indigenous Arachnocampa luminosa glowworms that cover the ceiling to create a star-lit sky impression. The glowworms, found exclusively in New Zealand, are around the size of an average mosquito.
Peleș Castle, Romania
The Neo-Renaissance castle, built between 1873 and 1914, served as the summer house for the royal family until 1947. It has 160 rooms adorned with the finest examples of European art, crystal chandeliers and German stained-glass windows. The castle was featured in "The Brothers Bloom" (2009).
